Loss of Passport of the Republic of Slovenia
The disappearance or theft of a passport abroad must be reported to the nearest diplomatic and consular mission of the Republic of Slovenia abroad within 30 days of the disappearance.
The report of the disappearance or theft of the passport must contain true information about the circumstances of the disappearance of the passport and must be accompanied by a copy of the police report about the incident.
For citizens, traveling back to Slovenia, the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in Tokyo will issue a return travel document, which is a temporary document and is intended only for return to your place of residence. It cannot be used to continue your journey to other countries on your traveling list.
Fee for issuance of a return travel document
A consular fee of EUR 19 is applicable for the issuance of a return travel document. Customers are kindly requested to pay the cost of the travel document in the local currency, that is YPY. Documents required for the issuance of a travel document
The following documents are required for the issuance of a travel document:
- a police report about the loss or theft of the document,
- a recent photo.
- a proof of travel back to home country (ie. a flight ticket).
The applicant must also prove his/her identity. It is advisable to make a photocopy of your passport before travelling abroad and have it with you during the travels.
Issuance of an Emergency Travel Document (ETD)
If your passport is lost or stolen in the Republic of the Philippines or the Republic of Korea, where the Republic of Slovenia has no representation (Slovenia is not represented), you can apply for an Emergency Travel Document (ETD) at the Embassy of another European Union country.
We kindly ask you to contact the Embassy of the Republic of Italy, which represents Slovenia in the issuance of European Travel Document in the Republic of the Philippines and the Republic of Korea.
Emergency Travel Document is issued only for return to the country of permanent or temporary residence.
Documents required for the issuance of an Emergency Travel Document
To be issued an Emergency Travel Document, please:
- fill in an application form, obtained at the Embassy of Italy;
- provide any other identification document;
- attach the police report, reporting the loss, disappearance or theft of your passport;
- attach two recent colour photographs, size 35x45 mm.
A consular fee of €19 is payable for the issuance of an Emergency Travel Document.
